Evolving Lead Compounds From Nature
19-23 September, 2022
Afe Babalola University in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria
The conference and summer school Drug Discovery Africa 2022 (DDA 2022) will provide a timely and critically needed platform to discuss the most important research challenges in establishing a viable and sustainable drug research culture in sub-Saharan Africa and to propose innovative strategies that will enhance future studies in the field, with special emphasis given on the identification of bio-active lead compounds from African biodiversity. In addition, we will provide training to the next generation of researchers in the relevant drug discovery areas, including hit and lead discovery, medicinal chemistry, preclinical pharmacology, as well as drug metabolism and pharmaco-kinetics studies.
This conference including summer school is funded by the Volkswagenstiftung. This allows us to provide travel funds to the young-generation participants (Master & PhD students and early-career postdocs) from Africa.
